Warmth & heat

How do heated gloves work?

Flexible carbon-fibre heat loops run across the back of the hand and along every finger to the tip. A rechargeable battery in each cuff powers them.

How quickly do HeatGrip gloves warm up?

You should feel warmth in about 8 seconds after switching on. How warm it feels can depend on the weather, fit and setting.

How many heat settings are there?

Three: low, medium and high. One button on the back of the hand switches between them.

Do the fingertips get warm?

Yes. The heat loops run along every finger to the tip, which is where ordinary gloves usually fall short. In our thermal test the fingertips measured 32.7°C in HeatGrip against 14.2°C in a wool glove.

Can I wear them indoors?

Yes. The low setting gives gentle warmth if your hands get cold at home, for example while reading or working at a desk.

Are heated gloves better than hand warmers?

Hand warmers warm one spot and are often single-use. Heated gloves spread warmth along the fingers and are rechargeable.

Battery & charging

How long does the battery last?

It depends on the setting: low lasts longest and high gives the most heat. Each pair comes with two rechargeable batteries, one per cuff. Ask us if you need exact running times for a long day out.

How do I charge the batteries?

Take the batteries out of the zipped cuff pockets and charge them with the included USB cable, using any USB plug or laptop.

What comes in the box?

One pair of HeatGrip heated gloves, two rechargeable batteries and a USB charging cable.

Can I use the gloves without the batteries?

Yes. Without batteries they work as ordinary insulated winter gloves; they just won't heat.

Can I buy spare batteries?

Please contact us and we'll let you know what's available.

Can I take heated gloves on a plane?

Rechargeable batteries usually have to go in hand luggage, not in the hold. Rules differ between airlines, so check with yours before you fly.

Size & fit

Will HeatGrip fit me?

One size fits most adult hands with a palm width of 18 to 24 cm. The Velcro cuff adjusts at the wrist for a snug fit. If they don't fit, our 90-day money-back guarantee covers you.

Do they fit women's hands?

Most adult women's hands fall within the 18–24 cm palm range. Measure around your palm below the knuckles to check.

Do they fit men with larger hands?

They fit palms up to 24 cm. If your hands are larger, measure first, and remember you can return them within 90 days.

Do they work on a touchscreen?

Yes. The thumb and index fingertips work with touchscreens, so you can use your phone without taking them off. Response can vary by device.

Are they bulky?

They're a normal winter-glove thickness, so you can still hold a lead, a handlebar or a cup of tea.

Weather & washing

Do heated gloves work in the rain?

The outer shell is water-resistant, so showers and drizzle are fine. They're not waterproof, so don't submerge them.

Can you wash heated gloves?

Yes, by hand. Remove both batteries first, hand-wash gently in lukewarm water and let them air-dry fully before putting the batteries back.

Can I put them in the washing machine or tumble dryer?

No. Hand-wash only and air-dry, with the batteries removed.

Are they good for skiing?

They suit cold, dry days on the slopes. As they're water-resistant rather than waterproof, avoid soaking them in wet snow.

Can I use them for cycling or motorcycling?

Many riders use heated gloves for cold rides. Check you can grip and work the controls safely before riding.
